Baked Macaraoni & Cheese

My husband loves baked macaroni and cheese, so whenever I find an interesting looking recipe, I have to give it a go.  I came across this on pinterest and have never seen mac & cheese made like this before!  It was an incredibly simple recipe to follow, but it isn’t super creamy; it’s more like pasta with melted cheese.  I actually really liked it, but the husband wasn’t as impressed.

Baked Mac & Cheese

  • 2 1/2 cups uncooked macaroni
  • 2 1/2 Tbs flour
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 4 Tbs butter, cut into small slices
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  1. Cook pasta until tender and drain. (If your not ready for the next step, and your pasta will be sitting on the counter for a while you can add a little oil or melted butter to keep the noodles from sticking.)
  2. While the pasta is cooking, mix all dry ingredients together and set aside.
  3. Lightly grease a baking dish, and place half of macaroni inside.
  4. Sprinkle half of the flour mixture over top and top with half of the butter slices.
  5. Sprinkle half of the cheese over it (1 1/2 cups).
  6. Repeat (add remaining pasta, flour mixture, and cheese).
  7. Pour the milk over the entire thing.
  8. Bake at 350 for t35 minutes covered with foil, then bake an additional 10 minutes uncovered.
